Walmart is getting ready to begin taking preorders for Samsung's new flagship smartphone duo, the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.

Preorders have already begun for Samsung's Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. All of the U.S. carriers, with the exception of Verizon, are now taking preorders for both smartphones, along with retailer Best Buy. Consumers can now order their Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge directly from either Sprint, AT&T, T-Mobile, US Cellular, or via Best Buy.

Carriers and retailers have also offered added incentives to purchase through them in the form of free gifts given to customers. Those who choose to sign up on T-Mobile's service will receive a free year of Netflix, valued at $100, whether they are current or new Netflix customers. Those who purchase a new Samsung Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge through Best Buy, which offers plans on the Verizon, AT&T and Sprint networks, will receive a free wireless charging pad valued at $59.99.

Verizon is expected to join the preorder fray on the date it previously announced, April 1. Verizon's contract pricing is the same as the other carriers except you will have to pay an additional $50 up front which you then receive back via a mail-in-rebate.

When Samsung announced the new flagship smartphones, it indicated that other retailers would be offering the phones as well, including Walmart, Target and Costco.

Now, Walmart has created a dedicated page on its website indicating the release of the smartphones through the retailer is imminent. No details are given, however, and the devices are not actually listed as available for sale yet.

A Google search of Walmart Samsung Galaxy S6, however, reveals an ad placed by Walmart entitled "Galaxy S6 at Walmart. Get The Latest Samsung Phones at Walmart! Pre-Order Yours Today." The page leads to a description of the phone on Walmart's website which then prompts users to "find your store," but has no preorder information as of yet. Apparently Walmart is readying the preorder search process prior to going live in the near future.

While the Walmart page only references the S6 and not the Edge, the retailer is expected to carry both options. Target and Costco haven't announced anything yet as far as their preorder or availability dates, but we'll continue to bring you all the latest information on retail availability of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge as it develops.
