The Flash is arguably the hottest DC show on TV right now as in many ways it stays true to the comics. However, there is something crucial the writers have yet to touch on, and that is the Speed Force.

For those who are unaware, the Speed Force is what allows The Flash and every other speedster, such as Reverse Flash, to run fast. It is the source of their powers, so it would make sense for the show writers to talk about it if even for a few seconds.

Well, according to Tom Cavanagh, who plays the Reverse Flash on the show, the Speed Force will come into play eventually. It is not certain when fans can get the chance to see the characters talking about the Speed Force, but with the amount of things that happened and is bound to happen, it shouldn't be too long from now.

Not only did Cavanagh spoke about the Speed Force, but he also talked about Barry Allen and what the character think he wants. This gives us the idea that Allen might very well go back in time and save his mother, which would likely cause a rip in the timeline, similar to Flashpoint.

"If you know the Speed Force, it's fair to say that Barry's abilities come from a positive culling of the Speed Force," according to Cavanagh in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. "Reverse Flash's abilities come from what Barry would call a negative culling of the Speed Force. Truthfully, the Speed Force is important to both of them accomplishing their goals and the Speed Force doesn't separate. As they fight towards what they really want - or think they want - they are going to have to take advantage of that Speed Force. I say, 'think they want,' because if you're familiar with the mythology, what Barry needs and what Barry thinks he wants aren't always the same thing."

All this could lead to the recently shot episode of The Flash where we get to see Oliver in a different costume that looks similar to that of the ones worn by the League of Assassins. Maybe he's Ra's al Ghul, or maybe he's just hiding from the authorities.
