The HTC One M9+ has landed, in China, and appears to be delivering on all the rumored bells and whistles.

But don't expect it to land anywhere in North America, or Europe, at any time. HTC CEO Cher Wang believes American and European smartphone consumers are more than content with the previous smartphone generation, the HTC One M9, as she writes in this statement.

As HTC states in its blog announcing the HTC One M9+ China debut, the latest handset in its flagship smartphone portfolio is "all about luxury" and adheres to the HTC philosophy of "simple, crafted and human."

The all-metal phone features improved cameras, a fingerprint sensor, and lots of enhanced audio including HTC BoomSound and Dolby Audio surround sound. There is a 5.2 inch 2K display and a MediaTek Helio X10 core processor. The UltraPixel front-facing camera offers auto-exposure for sharper shots.

But what's likely getting most consumers' attention is the HTC Sense 7 technology that lets users create a personal theme for the phone by insight how they use the device at home, while socializing and while at work. It drives the home screen to provide the most relevant apps, and features that are likely needed at that moment.

The fingerprint sensor is a step up in device security. Given the increasing theft rate of smartphones, it is a smart move for those who want greater protection.

The HTC One M9+ is a bit bigger than its predecessor but still able to be handled by one hand. The little extra girth was apparently necessary for the larger 5.2-inch Quad HD display, offering 2560x1440 resolution.

From all accounts it seems all the reported sightings and leaks on the HTC One M9+ were pretty accurate, as one media report notes.

While HTC is extolling all the new features, it's not releasing insight on pricing apparently and right now the HTC One M9+ is only available in China and no information on future market debut has been released as yet.

The smartphone boasts a MediaTek MT6795T processor, which replaces the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 and features 3GB RAM and 32GB of storage.
