Tuesday is usually not the best day of the week. You're still trying to recover from the awesome weekend you had, but the upcoming weekend is still so far away. You probably finished watching all of Sunday night's shows on your DVR on Monday. Tuesday is basically just the worst.

However, there is one thing you can look forward to every Tuesday: brand-spanking-new music. And this Tuesday is no different.

No matter what kind of music you're into, you're sure to find something that will please your ears this week, from rock to indie to R&B. You've got highly anticipated sophomore albums from some of today's biggest acts as well as new music from legendary artists.

With all of this awesome music, how could your Tuesday not be amazing? Turn that frown upside down, you hear?

Now I know you might have gotten your fill of new vinyl releases during last Saturday's Record Store Day, and that's all good and well, but hopefully you've saved some room for new digital releases to come into your life, because these five releases are so good, you're not going to want to wait to download or stream them. And it's a good thing you don't have to. Here's how you can get them ASAP on Spotify, iTunes and Amazon today.

1. Alabama Shakes, Sound & Color (April 21)

Alabama Shakes made a splash with their rock and blues-fueled debut album Boys & Girls in 2012, so the pressure is on with the release of their highly anticipated sophomore effort Sound & Color released today. However, this experimental follow-up is already getting solid reviews, so it looks like the band is primed to remain on top.

2. Passion Pit, Kindred (April 21)

Though this may be the third LP from cheery indietronica outfit Passion Pit, with this new release, it's like it's a whole new band. After recording and touring for its 2012 album Gossamer, Passion Pit frontman Michael Angelakos parted ways with his bandmates and opened up about his battle with bipolar disorder. Kindred is effectively Passion Pit's rebirth.

3. Mavis Staples, Your Good Fortune (April 21)

Of course, legendary R&B and gospel singer Mavis Staples has an impressive catalogue from her decades in the music biz that you're hopefully already enjoying. However, you're not going to want to miss Staples' new EP, which includes two new songs written by Son Little and two songs that she's covered before, "See That My Grave Is Kept Clean" by Blind Lemon Jefferson and the gospel song "Wish I Had Answered."

4. Joywave, How Do You Feel Now? (April 21)

You probably know Joywave from Big Data's 2013 single "Dangerous," which the indie band provided the vocals for. Now you get Joywave all to yourself with the band's latest LP How Do You Feel Now?, which has already been available to stream on Spotify for a week, but you can now purchase it from places like iTunes and Amazon today.

5. Speedy Ortiz, Foil Deer (April 21)

With a band name inspired by a character in the alt-comic Love and Rockets and a quaint-looking cover for its sophomore album, Speedy Ortiz may seem downright whimsical. However, Speedy Ortiz's music will take you to a deeper, darker, grungier place.
