Samsung's Galaxy Note 4 is the current king of Android smartphones, according to the AnTuTu Top 10 list of most popular Android smartphones in the world for Q1 2015.

Every year, during each quarter, AnTuTu comes out with its list of the best Android smartphones based on consumer popularity. For Q1 2015 results, AnTuTu analyzed data from different countries between January 1, 2015 to March 31, 2015. This time around, AnTuTu added the popularity ranking of smartphones in three new countries: India, Malaysia and Vietnam.

The purpose of the report is to aid users in different countries in choosing their next smartphone.

According to the AnTuTu list of Top 10 Popular Smartphones in the World 2015, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is the consumer favorite, followed by the Galaxy S5 and Xiaomi HM Note.

"Samsung Note 4 is the No. 1 and it should be, with much advantages of Samsung technology. Galaxy 5 is No. 2 in this global ranking. Samsung is still favorite choice of end users. Xiaomi also did great job last quarter with 2 models in this ranking. OnePlus is still a competitive model in the global stage," reveals the AnTuTu report.

The LG G3 and Xiaomi 4 round up the Top 5, coming in at number four and five, respectively. The sixth spot is claimed by Google Nexus 5, followed by the Sony Xperia Z3 and OnePlus' One on seven and eight. Samsung's old warhorse Galaxy Note 3 occupies the ninth spot and the ASUS ZenFone5 rounds off the Top 10.

However, the accuracy of the ranking remains circumspect as the numbers gathered were based on smartphones that had the AnTuTu app installed and, therefore, the sampling may not necessarily be accurate and representative of customer preferences.
