Users of HTC's former flagship smartphones are continuing to report problems since their devices received the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop update. Among the reported issues are freezing apps, battery drain and forced reboots.

HTC just revealed its latest flagship HTC One M9 smartphone with much fanfare. The new handset sports improved specs, a premium design and runs Android 5.0 Lollipop straight out of the box.

Owners of the phone's predecessors, the HTC One M8 and HTC One M7, are experiencing continuing performance issues with the Android 5.0 Lollipop update on their devices since we reported the problems last month. Users of the former flagships have taken to Internet message boards and Tech Times to report their issues and vent their frustrations.

Decreased battery life is one of the most reported problems since the Android 5.0 Lollipop update, as are freezing and force closing of apps, frame rate decreases and lags during use. HTC's proprietary user interface, Sense, is also not functioning properly and causing forced reboots.

One user complained just last week, "I've had constant problems since the update. The phone crashes at least once a day, hitting the home or back button frequently brings up the multi-screen view, and some apps won't load at all on some days ... and then will on others. Plus my battery is draining at an average of 5 percent every 15 minutes, regardless of use. This update is terrible!"

"Horrible. I had to do a factory reset and still have problems. Screen flicker, freezing, battery life is horrible. It's getting really frustrating." complained another.

A factory reset has helped some users overcome their phones performance issues since receiving the update, while others like the one above have seen no improvement.

One user, however, reported a possible solution for app crashes, which involved uninstalling "Android Webview." Other users confirmed that this helped them with similar issues.

Have you received the Android 5.0 Lollipop update on your HTC One M8 or HTC One M7? If so, are you happy with the update or are you experiencing similar performance issues? Please let us know in the comments below.
