The Samsung Galaxy S5 will be released on April 11 and the smartphone's display was just named "most accurate and best performing smartphone display".

We only have a few days to go before Samsung releases its next-generation Galaxy S5 smartphone on April 11. The handset is already destined to become the best-selling Android smartphone of 2014 and it has just picked up another very impressive honor before it even ships.

Dr. Raymond M. Soneira of DisplayMate put the Samsung Galaxy S5 through a display technology shoot-out. The test puts the display through several comprehensive display lab tests, analysis, and measurements to explain the smartphone's OLED display performance for consumers, reviewers, and journalists.

"While many people have assumed that the Galaxy S5 has basically the same display as the Galaxy S4, but just a bit bigger, that isn't the case... Our detailed Lab tests show that there have been significant display performance improvements in almost every single test and measurement category, resulting in a number of new records for Smartphone display performance. Based on our extensive Lab tests and measurements, which we present in detail below, the Galaxy S5 is the Best performing Smartphone display that we have ever tested - and it has raised the bar for top display performance up by another notch." said Dr. Soneira. He claims that the Galaxy S5's display is the best smartphone display he has ever tested.

Some of the highlights of the test reveal that the Samsung Galaxy S5 brings a "major improvement" over the similar displays found on the Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S4. The Galaxy S5's Cinema Mode has shown to produce to most accurate colors of any smartphone or tablet ever tested. Dr. Soneira said that tests reveal that the Galaxy S5 is 22% brighter than the Galaxy S4 and 13% brighter than the Galaxy Note 3. He also noted that the Galaxy S5 has a 27% improvement in display power efficiency over the Galaxy S4.

Samsung is one of the top smartphone and tablet display manufacturers in the world and this latest test only solidifies that reputation. If you're going to be getting a Samsung Galaxy S5, you'll be happy to know that you're in for one of the best viewing experiences to ever grace a smartphone.
