Craving a Big Mac or some chicken nuggets and fries — at 4 a.m.? No worries, New York, because McDonald's announced on Monday that it will test out a 24-hour delivery service with its partner Postmates.

Get ready to say, "I'm lovin' it," foodies. 88 McDonald's chains in Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn will offer the delivery service, allowing customers to receive any item on the menu (except ice cream cones) right at their doorstep.

It seems like fast food chains have a presence on every city block, allowing New Yorkers to go and grab food at just about any time of the day. But McDonald's is looking to make fast food even more convenient by rolling out the new service, as it continues to follow in the footsteps of Chipotle — which recently started full-menu delivery services at 67 select chains across the country.

"This is a city where delivery is a way of life," said Mwaffak Kanjee, McDonald's New York Metro vice president and general manager. "We are excited to launch this test so our customers can get hot, freshly prepared food right from McDonald's kitchens, when and where they want it."

The new direct-to-consumer service will deliver fast food within the hour. All you have to do is download the Postmates app for iOS and Android or go to Postdates.com to order.

Deliveries will be available during normal operating hours, which means 24-hours for select chains that are apart of the pilot.

But don't think you can just order from the dollar menu without any extra fees. The popular fast food chain will charge a $5 delivery charge, plus Postmates charges a nine percent service fee. That means if you're looking for a meal that costs five bucks or less, you're better off taking a walk to the nearest location. That said, if you spend at least $10 on your order, you can avoid the delivery fee.

The new 24-hour delivery service may well come in handy on rainy days or when you're feeling just plain ol' lazy. That Daredevil marathon won't watch itself, you know. At least now you can binge on your fave fast food as you binge-watch your fave shows — all without leaving the couch.

"Our customers continue to tell us that they want their favorites from McDonald's delivered right to their doorsteps," said Julia Vander Ploeg, McDonald's USA Digital vice president. "We've listened to their feedback and are excited to launch this initiative. We look forward to learning from this test and continuing to innovate as we offer our customers everyday conveniences and new ways to experience our brand."

The delivery service is just one of the recent changes we have seen from McDonald's. The chain recently rolled out all-day breakfast, followed by sirloin burgers as part of its quest to serve up better food and raise profits, following the announcement that it will close 700 stories this year.

At least the chain figured out their delivery service game plan before Taco Bell.
