ADT has entered into new partnerships with LG Electronics and Nest as part of its aim to deliver advanced home security solutions to its customers.

The company, which is a leader in terms of providing security and automation solutions designed for homes and businesses, will be introducing the new smart security product from LG into its security services. Likewise, it also plans to integrate the Nest Learning Thermostat into its own Pulse ecosystem.

The "Smart Security" system from LG Electronics is an all-in-one security and home automation solution product, which is slated to launch later this year. It is a plug-and-play device that comes in a compact size, thereby offering huge flexibility in remote monitoring of home conditions while incorporating the ADT service in order to gain added protection.

Inspired by the Internet of Things, this new security device can be used as the focal point of control in future "smart homes" where seamless connection to peripheral gadgets and mobile app manipulation are also made possible.

"By collaborating with a leader like ADT, we will deliver best-in-class product innovations and services to consumers," said LG Senior VP Byung-hoon Min, who also heads the company's Convergence Audio-Video business.

The all-in-one smart security product from LG features a 5MP camera with 1080p video capture, field of view measured at 150 degrees, speakers, microphone, and night vision that can cover a distance of up to 30 feet. The product is yet to have an official name, launch date and price tag.

ADT also plans to integrate its Pulse home automation and security platform with Nest. Scheduled to launch this summer, the new integration will showcase the company's commitment to keep its ecosystem open and accommodating to future opportunities.

The Pulse platform is getting new enhancements that will allow faster application integration, development and support of third parties and their services and devices. It aims to bring a sharper focus on, and ongoing enhancements to, the Pulse user experience, whether through tablet, mobile or other Internet-connected devices.

ADT will also feature services from other partners as part of an ongoing development scheme to its security platform. These include the Life360 app, which is designed to help the user track his family members, and a web service called "If This Then That," which allows the user to easily connect physical devices and web services.

"Bringing LG and Nest into our ecosystem allows ADT to help define the future of home and business security and automation for the millions of customers who rely on our people and systems every day," said Naren Gursahaney, President, CEO and Director of the ADT Corporation.
