Stephen A. Smith is known to elocute with the finest of vocabulary each morning on ESPN's First Take.

But on Thursday morning, Smith felt like his co-host, Skip Bayless, accused him of incorrectly using the word spew earlier in the show to describe something Skip was saying. So, how did Stephen A. handle it? By looking up the definition of "spewing" in the dictionary and reading it live on the air. (We can't make this stuff up even if we tried).

"Skip Bayless, first of all to piggyback off of something you said earlier, to spew ... the definition of spewing is ejecting or gushing in disgust or anger," Smith said, while somehow managing to keep a straight face.

"Did you look it up?" asked Bayless with half a grin and half disbelief written all over his face.

"I stick by that word when classified," Smith said. "I did look it up. I did look it up."

Bayless rolled his eyes, shaking his head.

First Take moderator — and brave soul getting between these two Monday through Friday — Cari Champion said: "Oh, stop it guys! Come on! Come on!"

All the while, ESPN NFL analyst Mark Schlereth was sitting there live on set, waiting to get his two cents in during a debate on Deflategate. (Yes, Stephen A. and Skip are still talking Deflategate).

But they weren't done yet.

"Spew is appropriate," Smith said. "Well, he's right. I did look it up. I had to double check."

"OK ... spew. I spew," Bayless said in defeat.

"I was right," Smith said. "You do spew!"

Watch the hilarious exchange beginning at the 10:00-minute mark.

Leave it to Smith and Bayless to make anything — and we mean anything — an interesting debate. This one didn't even have anything to do with sports!
