There's a new bug with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt that prevents players from gaining experience points (XP) after completing quests. The bug is so prevalent that it could actually make future gameplay all but impossible as players won't properly level up.

And, unfortunately, the only way to deal with the bug is to not play the game until the developer comes up with a fix.

Gamers began reporting the problem yesterday on the official The Witcher 3 forums.

"Quests that are 6 levels (or more) lower than yours are not granting experience," writes CD Projekt Red. "Anything else should reward you with exp, we are looking into the issue."

The good news is that if you're playing quests that are five levels or less than yours, you should still receive the correct amount of XP for those missions. Also, CD Projekt Red is working on a fix, which they hope to release to players of the game soon.

This is only one of a few minor reported issues with the game and it seems that CD Projekt Red have been proactive in dealing with any and all problems. Compare that to how Ubisoft, a larger development company, dealt with major issues with the release of Assassins Creed: Unity, and it's refreshing for many gamers to play a game that has, so far, seen few problems.

CD Projekt Red also plans on providing support for The Witcher 3 for two whole years before focusing on their next game. The game will see free DLC releases every few weeks, as well as a few additional paid expansion packs.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has been massively successful, with 1.5 million copies already sold just a week after its release. It's likely that the new chapter in the tale of Geralt of Rivia will outsell its predecessor, which sold a total of 1.7 million copies.

"Sales of the third part will be many times higher than with our earlier games. Preorders indicate this," says CD Projekt Red's chief executive Adam Kicinski. "We broke into the mainstream. It is such a moment in our firm's history that after some years people will look differently at CD Projekt before and after this release."

Profits from The Witcher 3 will go toward CD Projekt Red's next project, Cyberpunk 2077.

"We hope and we are certain that Cyberpunk has even bigger commercial potential. It is too early to talk about it, though," says Kicinski. "This year, and the next one will be the years of the Witcher."
