China-based Gionee Smartphones has finally pushed out its much-awaited Elife E7 Mini smartphone in India.

Tuesday, April 15, marked the arrival of Gionee's Elife E7 Mini in the Indian consumer market.

The company had announced the Elife E7 Mini along with sibling Elife E7 earlier in December 2013. The Elife E7 debuts in India sporting a price tag of Rs 18,999 (approximately $315) after it had surfaced on an e-commerce website earlier this month.

"The response to Elife E7 has been incredible, and we're excited for customers to experience the new ELife E7 Mini, as we think customers will love these thin, light, powerful new smartphones," said Arvind R. Vohra, head of Gionee Smartphones in India.

The Elife E7 Mini has been lauded for its 13-megapixel camera, which is capable of 360-degree rotation. This feature is a deal-clincher for customers who love taking photographs, especially selfies. The free-rotation camera doubles as both the primary and secondary camera owing to the 360-degree rotation support, which means that the self-portraits that are taken are high resolution.

Another feature of the smartphone's camera is that it deploys Blue Glass Filter, which basically sieves infrared, resulting in crisp and natural-looking images.

Size-wise, the Elife E7 Mini is pretty compact and measures 5.5 x 2.6 x .34 inches. When compared with other smartphones in its category like the LG G2 Mini, the E7 Mini is slightly heavier, weighing 142.9 gms when compared to the former's 121 gms.

The smartphone boasts a 4.7-inch IGZO HD Display with resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The E7 Mini packs in a 2200 mAh battery, which supports up to 18 hours of talk time and approximately 200 hours of standby time.

A 1.7GHz Octa-core Mediatek processor powers the E7 Mini. The device also houses 1GB of RAM and offers support for 16GB of internal memory, which is not expandable. The smartphone comes pre-loaded with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS with Gionee's Amigo 2.0 user interface on top.

The Elife Mini also offers support for 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and is NFC capable. It is also available in both single- and dual-SIM variants.

The smartphone is available in four hues -- pink, blue, graphite black and white. It is now available online from e-retailers such as Flipkart and Snapdeal.
