Fans of Naughty Dog's Uncharted series may still have to wait until 2016 for the next title in the franchise, but there is good news with the bad: the developer plans on releasing a new collection of previous Uncharted games with the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection.

So while you're waiting for Uncharted 4, you can revisit all three previous Uncharted games on the PlayStation 4, or if you're new to the series, you can get caught up before Uncharted 4 releases next year (if there aren't further delays, of course).

The new Uncharted collection actually popped up on the PlayStation store last night, but then later disappeared. However, a lot of fans of the series saw it, and eventually, Naughty Dog's Neil Druckman confirmed its existence.

This morning, Naughty Dog released an official announcement trailer for the collection, as well as more details about what it includes and when it comes out.

Expect Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection on October 7 in Europe and October 9 in North America. The bundle features Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception for the first time on the PlayStation 4. And it's obviously something to whet Uncharted fans' appetite for the 2016 release of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End.

Check out the official announcement trailer here:

All three games are remastered versions, with better graphics and framerates, as well as improved gameplay. Those who pre-order the collection also get an additional pack of goodies, including new skins and weapons. Those who pre-order the digital download from the PlayStation Store also get a Nathan Drake PlayStation 4 theme.

Earlier this year, fans of the Uncharted franchise saw disappointment when Naughty Dog announced a delay in the release of Uncharted 4. Here's hoping this placates fans until the latest entry in the Nathan Drake franchise gets released.
