When thinking of the perfect actor to play an assassin, who could be better than Jason Statham? And rumor had it that Marvel fans may get to see the action star portray the villainous, crazed assassin Bullseye in Netflix's season two of Daredevil. However, Marvel Television has denied the rumors, saying there is "no truth to it at all."

While the rumor was not confirmed, Latino Review revealed that Statham was in talks for the role, and was seen leaving a meeting with Marvel personnel earlier this week. Known for his performance in The Transporter films and Furious 7, there is no denying that Statham would be able to deliver the action.

Even though Marvel denied the rumors, it seemed like Statham had his eye heart set on playing Bullseye for awhile. He was previously in talks to play the character in the film reboot of Daredevil before Marvel gained back the rights from Twentieth Century Fox.

But the actor also fought back the rumors, going as far to say that playing superhero roles was so easy, even his grandma could do it.

During an interview with the Italian movie website I 400 Calci during press for his new action-comedy movie Spy, Statham critiqued action movies, taking a stab at Marvel.

"I could take my grandma and put her in a cape, and they'll put her on a green screen and they'll have stunt doubles come in and do all the action. Anybody can do it," he said. "They're relying on stunt doubles, and green screen, and $200 million budgets, it's all CGI created. To me, it's not authentic."

Other characters are also rumored to appear in Season 2 of the Netflix series. These include villains Mr. Fear, Mystero and Elektra — Matt Murdock's love interest.

Rumors about the ninja assassin Elektra joining the series were sparked after a tweet that linked a video of auditions from actresses Shiva Kalaiselvan and Louisa Mignone. The videos have since been deleted.

Charlie Cox, who plays Matt Murdock in the series, previously said he wanted to see Bullseye, Elektra, and The Punisher join the cast. There is no word yet on whether The Punisher will be added to Season 2.

In the meantime, our fingers are crossed that there is still hope we will see Statham in Daredevil's second season, which will be available to stream in 2016.
