LG plans on introducing an Ultra HD display on its upcoming LG G3 and leaked images show the company is planning a major overhaul of its UI and will introduce a new "concierge service."

Many of the largest Android device makers have felt the need to create custom UIs to make the OS more user friendly. Samsung feels its TouchWiz UI adds value to its Galaxy smartphones and tablets, while HTC makes things simpler with Sense. Amazon has covered up all traces of Android on its Kindle Fire tablets with Fire OS and LG is about to give its Optimus UI a major update when it officially announces the LG G3.

We've been covering LG G3 leaks and have reported that the smartphone will boast an Ultra HD display with a jaw-dropping resolution of 2560 x 1440. Sprint later confirmed the G3's specs via a UA Profile on the carrier's site. Since the LG G3 will be one of the first smartphones to ship with a QHD display, it only seems fitting to revamp the user interface to show off that gorgeous display.

Digital Trends posted images of what the site claims are screenshots from the LG G3. The images show the Optimus UI will follow the trend Apple began with iOS 7 and will feature flatter and brighter icons. Other design changes include a revamped notification drawer, a favorite contacts widget, and a new AccuWeather widget that will tie into what the publication's sources are calling a "concierge service."

LG's new service will reportedly go beyond what Google offers with Google Now. The new feature will collect information from various sources and observe how you use the smartphone, and it will then present users with information based on that collected data. This sounds like the same approach Microsoft took with its Cortana digital assistant in Windows Phone 8.1. Cortana collects information and securely stores it in a virtual notebook that allows the assistant to make personal recommendations from the stored information and goes beyond what Siri and Google Now currently offer.

We'll be sure to continue to provide you with more LG G3 news as it happens.
