How'd you like to have "Professor of LEGO" on your résumé?

Someone's going to get that title — once the University of Cambridge finds the candidate it's looking for. It's not entirely surprising, given the iconic toy line's increasingly prominent position in pop culture over the last decade. With multiple learning institutions around the world already using LEGO blocks to foster hands-on learning and creativity, perhaps it was just a matter of time before LEGO professorship became a thing.

The LEGO Foundation has donated £4 million ($6,256,800) to Cambridge, so the university is using some of those funds to set up a research department that will be lead by the new professor. This department, called the "Research Centre on Play in Education, Development and Learning," will fall under the Faculty of Education umbrella at the prestigious institution.

The new professor will be chosen by a board of electors, with an eye toward beginning his or her new role as of October 2015.
