The official Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update is now rolling out. The update is expected to bring bug fixes and performance improvements to Samsung's flagship phablet.

Rumors are swirling about Samsung's next-generation Galaxy Note 5, along with the newest member of Samsung's latest Galaxy S6 smartphone line, the super-sized S6 Edge Plus. Specs for both devices have already leaked, and the handsets are expected to be introduced in the near future.

The Galaxy Note 4 however, currently remains Samsung's highest end phablet, and owners of the handset are finally being treated to the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update. Reports out of Russia indicate that the update is currently rolling out for the device but conflict as to whether it is actually being pushed out to users over the air, with one user indicating that the update is only available for the device right now at Samsung service centers.

The news is significant, in any case, because Russia is one of Samsung's most oft-used testing grounds prior to releasing OS software updates in other regions, including the U.S. Many owners of the phablet have been livid since the Android 5.0 Lollipop update was released, as they feel it has created a host of new problems on their smartphones, including battery drain, overheating, freezing and forced closure of apps, and Wi-Fi issues, among others.

The Galaxy Note 4 Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update apparently addresses many of these issues, which is why many Note 4 owners are waiting impatiently for it to arrive. There is no official change log or expected release date for the update in the U.S., but current reports suggest it could be released in September on all major U.S. carriers.

Do you own a Galaxy Note 4 and are you waiting for the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update to arrive? Are you experiencing problems with the current Android 5.0 Lollipop update? Please let us know in the comments below.
