Lenovo has added two new items in its lineup of products for enterprise customers - the multi-mode ThinkPad 10 tablet and a redesigned ThinkStation P300 workstation.

At the Accelerate 2014 Partner Forum in Orlando, Florida, Lenovo has taken the wraps off its latest ThinkPad tablet, a 10-inch slate that runs on Windows 8.1 and Windows 8.1 Pro and a powerful Intel quad-core Atom Z3795 processor. The tablet comes with a portfolio of accessories that can transform the ThinkPad 10 tablet into a fully functional ThinkPad laptop for the mobile worker.

"Customers want a versatile device that adapts to their way of life and offers uncompromised productivity whether in the office or on the move," says Lenovo vice president and general manager for ThinkPad Luis Hernandez. "Our new ThinkPad 10 tablet marries business optimized features with a unique multi-mode design to offer an exceptional computing experience that allows users to work, play and create in virtually any environment."

The ThinkPad 10 has a port for an Ultrabook keyboard ($129) with short-throw mechanical keys that can turn the tablet into a laptop when desired. It also has a Compact Bluetooth keyboard case ($119) that uses flat, touch-sensitive keys similar to that found in the Touch Cover for Microsoft's Surface tablets. The portfolio case also features a loop for the digital pen that comes with the ThinkPad 10.

The new tablet also sport an 8-megapixel rear camera, with an option of using Lenovo's bright-red Quickshot cover ($59), which automatically launches the camera app if you peel off one corner of the cover to expose the camera. Lenovo will also include a ruggedized rubber case ($69) with a hand strap on the back for use in construction sites.

Lenovo's ThinkPad 10, which will retail at $599 starting in June, has the following hardware specifications:

  • Intel Atom Processor Z3795 SoC Quad Core
  • 10.1-inch IPS display
  • 2 GB RA/4 GB RAM
  • 51 GB/64 GB/128 GB
  • 8-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front-facing camera
  • Wi-Fi a/b/g/n; 3G/4G LTE; Bluetooth 4.0; HSPA+ (optional)
  • Up to 10 hours of battery
  • Windows 8.1 and Windows 8.1 Pro

Along with its new tablet, Lenovo also released the entry-level ThinkStation P300, with a redesigned chassis that now features intuitive touch points and extended front and back lips for easy handling and transporting. Lenovo's new workstation features the FLEX module, which allows users to add only the components they need. FLEX supports an ultra-slim optical drive, a 29-in-1 card reader, IEEE 1394 Firewire and eSata. The workstation runs on the latest Intel Xeon E3-1200v3 product family, which includes Intel HD 4600 Graphics.

"Professional workstation users run very advanced, specialized applications. The ThinkStation P300 features the processing power, graphics capabilities and ISV certifications needed to run these applications smoothly," says Lenovo vice president and general manager for ThinkStation Victor Rios.

The ThinkStation P300 will start selling in tower and small form factors for 729 in June.
