There should be no idle thumbs this weekend. Steam is hosting a free play weekend for Ultra Street Fighter 4 and for those who require more than a Saturday and Sunday run through the long-standing tournament, the core game is also marked down to $10 and a few pennies.

PC gamers who already have Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition can step up to the Ultra version of the game for $5.09, which is 66 percent off the upgrade's $14 regular price. Those who don't already have the arcade edition of the game can purchase the full package for $10.19, which is 66 percent off its normal $30 price.

Ultra Street Fighter IV includes all of the downloadable content from the arcade edition of the game, which is just a suitcase full of cosmetic goodies.

The Ultra edition of Street Fighter IV has been on Steam for about a year now, landing on the digital distribution store back in August last year. Nearly 6,000 Steam reviewers have given the game an overall rating of "Very Positive," the next best thing to top honors of "Overwhelmingly Positive."

"The world's greatest fighting game evolves to a whole new level with Ultra Street Fighter IV," stated the game's description. "Continuing the tradition of excellence the series is known for, five new characters and six new stages have been added for even more fighting mayhem, with rebalanced gameplay and original modes topping off this ultimate offering."

With Street Fighter V due next year and the summer lull in full effect, now might be the best time to pick up Ultra Street Fighter IV. Once those autumn and winter sales hit, it won't be hard for this game to fall deep into the black holes that are Steam queues. We all really do mean to play those games, really.

As always, this weekend free play session ends Monday at 10 a.m. (Pacific) and 1 p.m. (Eastern). So for PC players just now finding out about this deal, they're already behind the eight ball.
