While Samsung has been praised for its latest and greatest smartphones, the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, there are a few features in which last year's Galaxy S5 beats them. A new deal from Amazon is offering Verizon's Galaxy S5 for $29.99.

iPhone users have watched their Android-using counterparts have some important features Apple never included in any iPhone model, like a removable battery and expansion slots that can add tons of memory to the least expensive 16 GB smartphone usually offered by carriers. LG has kept this tradition going and is one of the only Android manufacturers still offering a removable battery and microSD expansion slot, which it offers in its current flagship, the LG G4, which can swap out batteries and support 2 TB microSD cards.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge bring a brand new premium design and feel to the Galaxy S series, but there are two omissions that are found in practically every review of either device. The smartphones no longer offer a removable battery or a way to expand available storage via a microSD slot, which has appeared on all of the company's most popular handsets.

If you couldn't imagine not having the option to replace your battery by simply swapping it out or store your music library, movies and more on a large and inexpensive microSD card, you may want to consider a new deal from Amazon on the Verizon Samsung Galaxy S5.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 features a 5.1-inch 1920 by 1080 full HD Super AMOLED display with a pixel density of 432 pixels per inch (ppi). The handset is powered by a 2.5 Ghz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor and runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat, which can be updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop. The device is also dust- and water-resistant, again something the S6 and S6 Edge both are not. It includes 16 GB of internal storage, its microSD expansion slot supports up to 128 GB cards and packs in a large, removable 2,800 mAh battery that will provide up to 21 hours of talk time.

If you want the Verizon Samsung Galaxy S5, act fast; Amazon is notorious for changing prices without warning. The Samsung Galaxy S5 is on sale for $29.99 when signing a new two-year contract with the carrier.
