The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus brings everything that made the S6 Edge a hit, to a larger device. A new report reveals the specs and diagrams of the upcoming phablet.

The unique dual-edged display of the Galaxy S6 Edge not only adds features; its design has made it a hit with consumers who are willing to pay a premium for it over the identically-spec'd standard Galaxy S6. Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S6 Edge Plus supersizes its smaller sibling and brings a high-end, premium device built out of glass and metal to the Android phablet world. The device is going to be part of Samsung's 2015 flagship phablet double punch, which will include the Galaxy Note 5. Both smartphones are expected to go on sale weeks before the launch of Apple's latest and greatest iPhone, the iPhone 6s Plus, expected to go on sale in late September.

While the Galaxy Note 5 will retain the same popular S Pen stylus as its predecessors, the Galaxy S6 Edge doesn't include the S Pen or support it; it offers phablet buyers the current S6 Edge in a larger size that is sure to give the iPhone 6s Plus a run for its money in the design department.

Reported official specs for the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus have leaked, including images of how it compares with its smaller sibling. As the image above shows, the S6 Edge Plus is a larger-displayed S6 Edge, and its buttons, cameras and sensors are in the same exact areas. The handset's dimensions are listed as 154.4 by 75.9 by 6.9 mm.

In terms of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus' specs, the report claims the phablet will boast a 5.75-inch 1600 by 2560 Super AMOLED dual-edge curved display, will be powered by either a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 or Samsung Exynos 7422 processor and pack 3 GB of RAM. Like the Galaxy S6 Edge, the S6 Edge Plus won't offer a microSD expansion slot, will be offered in 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB models as well as a non-removable 3,220 mAh battery. It will also sport a 16 megapixel rear camera and 5 megapixel front-facing shooter for selfies and video chat.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus is expected to be unveiled by Samsung at a press event scheduled for Aug. 12 or Aug. 13. Alongside the Galaxy Note 5 and both phablets will reportedly go on sale globally on Aug. 21.
