Netflix has a plan in place for all its various Marvel series and shared some of the details of that plan at this week's Television Critics Association (TCA) press tour, as reported by IGN.

Those plans include a premiere of the upcoming Jessica Jones series later this year, earlier than the 2016 release most anticipated.

Netflix's version of Jessica Jones stars Krysten Ritter as an ex-superhero-turned private eye. The series also features Mike Colter as Luke Cage (who will also eventually get his own series on Netflix), David Tennant as Kilgrave/Purple Man, Rachael Taylor as Trish "Patsy" Walker and Carrie-Anne Moss as Harper.

Jessica Jones comic book creator Brian Michael Bendis recently took to his Tumblr in praise of the two episodes he's seen of the Netflix series.

"Jessica is a part of my DNA," wrote Bendis. "A bad jessica jones show would have hurt me deeply. BUT it is faithful and lively and everything that I could personally have wanted from the show."

Netflix also has specific release plans for its other Marvel series, too, including Luke Cage and Iron Fist, along with a Defenders series that brings them together with Jessica Jones and Daredevil.

"I think ideally there will be a rhythm of about every six months you'll get a new season or a new series from the Defenders group,' said Netflix CCO Ted Sarandos at TCA. "And then they'll crossover into a combined [Defenders] season once we've launched the first season of each of the four characters."

Daredevil had great success with its first season earlier this year and plans for season two are already in place, including a storyline featuring The Walking Dead's Jon Bernthal as The Punisher. Sarandos even teased that, at some point, that character could get his own TV series or movie, calling it "the beauty of the Marvel universe."
