Unless you're a tech snob and want nothing but the latest and greatest technology on your handsets, here's a great smartphone deal for you.

Target is selling an unlocked version of the Samsung Galaxy S5 on eBay for $340. That is more than half the regular selling price of an unlocked version of the smartphone, which is normally $699.99.

The phone is available in white, gold, black and blue, and will come with free return shipping in case buyers opt to return their phones due to defects. However, the version Target is selling is GSM-only, which means it can only be used GSM-compatible carriers such as AT&T and T-Mobile as well as GSM prepaid SIM cards such as H20. Unfortunately, users subscribing to a CDMA carrier such as Verizon, Sprint, Boost Mobile and Virgin Wireless will not be able to use this phone on their network.

Although the Galaxy S5 sports last year's technology, it still remains a solid smartphone that can perform most everyday digital activities with no problem. In fact, when its successor, the Galaxy S6, debuted earlier this year, Consumer Reports announced that it prefers 2014's Samsung flagship for its practical features that Samsung had done away with in favor of getting a more "premium" design on its new flagships.

Specifically, the Galaxy S5 has a microSD slot that gives users the option to upgrade their storage if they feel that the phone's 16 GB built-in storage is not enough, which is often the case for people who store a lot of photos, videos and music files.

Also, it has a 2,800 mAh removable lithium-ion battery, which is smaller than the batteries on today's flagships but it can be taken out and swapped out for a second battery, extending the life of the smartphone by at least another day without the user being forced to put it down to charge.

Lastly, the Galaxy S5 has IP67 certification for dust and water resistant, making it a more durable smartphone that can be submerged in up to 1 meter of water for 30 minutes.

The smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 801 chipset and has 2 GB of RAM. It sports a 5.1-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD resolution of 1,080 x 1,920 pixels. The rear camera has a 16 MP sensor, phase detection autofocus and LED flash, and the front camera is 2 MP with support for dual video call.

Interested buyers can check out the deal on eBay while it lasts.
