He may be the shortest man in all seven kingdoms, but he has a big personality and is full of big ideas. As the voice of Ghost, the floating robotic entity for Destiny: The Taken King, however, Peter Dinklage doesn't seem to fit the bill and is being replaced by another voice actor that most gamers are familiar with.

Voice actor Nolan North is replacing all of Dinklage's lines for the character Ghost, who is the game's narrator. Dinklage's voice acting is reported to have been a topic of disagreement because his voice sounded like a bored actor simply going through the motions of reading the lines in a studio as opposed to a voice actor giving life to a video game character.

Nolan is better known for his work in other popular games like Assassin's Creed and Uncharted. The actor expressed his excitement in lending his voice to the character when he shared with Game Informer: "You want to give him as much personality as the world will allow, without making it unbelievable. There's a fine line to walk there, and I think we found it."

Although Ghost may have a small physical frame, its role as a guiding voice for players to navigate the sci-fi world makes it one of the most important characters in the story. Ghost is not just a helpful piece of machine that offers hints and story details; it acts as the story's chronicler and guide.

Not only did Bungie get Nolan onboard to take over voicing the new content for the helpful robotic assistant. Nolan also re-recorded all the original dialogue from the storyline to create a consistent gaming experience for players.

"We wanted Nolan North's version of the Ghost to wake you up at the start of the journey at level one and follow you all the way to level forty," said Luke Smith, Bungie's creative director.

The online shooter game Destiny: The Taken King will release on Sept. 15.
