From playing hide and seek with bounty hunters to racing fast and expensive cars around the globe, one actor has certainly proven that there is nothing he is afraid of.

For his latest movie, Vin Diesel will take on the role of an extraordinary warrior as he battles evil forces in the highly awaited Lionsgate and Summit Entertainment production The Last Witch Hunter.

Vin stars in the movie as Kaulder, an 800-year-old witch hunter who finds himself with the mission to save all of humanity from a legion of evil creatures who want to unleash Black Death on the world.

"He is the most hardened and deadliest soldier due to his immortality. We assume the immortality is a gift, but we learn from understanding his world that there is a certain pain that he has been harboring for so long and there's a certain isolation that the character's had to live with," Vin said.

In the trailer on YouTube, Vin sports a long beard and braided hair reminiscent of the Viking ages. Kaulder, as it turns out, is the only one of his kind remaining in the world due to the curse the Queen Witch cast on him before her defeat. While living among us in the 21st century, Kaulder learns the Queen Witch has been resurrected and seeks to destroy the world.

Kaulder joins forces with a modern-day priest played by Michael Caine, a young priest played by Elijah Wood and a dream walker portrayed by Rose Leslie as they embark on an epic battle to once again defeat the Queen Witch and save all of humanity.

The Last Witch Hunter opens in cinemas on Oct. 23.
