As the fall smartphone launch cycle approaches, retailers are now planning for the list of devices that it will be selling. In some cases, some of the devices that go into the lists of retailers have not yet even been officially announced by the manufacturer.

Android news website Android Central received a tip on what retail giant Costco is planning to release. In an image uploaded on its website, it is revealed that Costco will be having Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus under the Verizon network as part of its upcoming smartphone lineup.

The Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, while still unannounced, are already well-leaked. The full specification sheets of both devices were already discovered before Samsung's planned Unpacked event on Aug. 13, when the two devices will be officially launched.

The Galaxy Note 5 will have a 5.7-inch quad-HD Super AMOLED display, and the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will have a 5.5-inch dual-edge display. The two devices will be powered by the octa-core Samsung Exynos 7420 processor nd 4GB of RAM with a Mali T-760 GPU. The smartphones will ship with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop installed, and like the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, will not have a user-replaceable battery and microSD card slot for memory expansion. The Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge will also be constructed with the new metal and glass design of the current flagship smartphones.

However, in addition to the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, which are already widely expected, the image that Android Central uploaded reveals another device that will soon be released by Verizon.

Motorola unveiled the Moto X Style last month, and revealed that it will be called the Moto X Pure edition once it is released in the United States. Carriers have no plans to sell the smartphone though, but more intriguing is the Moto X Play that has a smaller screen but bigger battery that Motorola will not be selling in the United States.

It has been speculated that the Moto X Play will not be sold in the United States because it could be rebranded as next the Droid Turbo, which is a smartphone that is exclusive for Verizon subscribers. Further fueling these speculations is the listing of a Verizon Turbo 2 in Costco's plans, but so far there is no indication on when the device will officially be unveiled and released in the country.
