The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has a neat new surprise, with a "New Game Plus" DLC is now available on the Xbox One.

The update has yet to roll out for the PC and PS4 versions of the game, but its arrival on the Xbox One suggests that it's just around the corner for other platforms as well.

The Witcher 3 players who have already completed the game will be able to start over with the New Game Plus Mode, retaining certain items and character skills from the previous campaign. More specifically, they'll still have their money, recipes and gear, but they'll no longer have their Gwent cards, usable items or trophies. The new DLC also makes enemies more difficult to beat, though it's unclear at this point what exactly that entails.

"Hungry for more action? Start a new game with all the skills and items from your previous playthrough, get better loot, slay even more ferocious beasts and relive the epic fantasy adventure that is The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt," reads the New Game Plus description on the Xbox One website.

Considering that developer CD Projekt RED has not made any announcement in this regards so far, the new DLC may have hit the Xbox Live earlier than scheduled. It would not be the first time that Microsoft has rolled out The Witcher 3 DLC ahead of schedule, indicating that the content should roll out to the other platforms in the coming days.

As for Xbox One players, they can download the new DLC on Microsoft's console.

Looking slightly further into the future, CD Projekt RED is expected to start offering more details on upcoming Witcher 3 expansions soon, as excitement keeps building up. The developer has already confirmed two expansions and at least one of them should feature Shani, but more information should surface at a later date.
