Three hundred thousand free Steam games? Sounds too good to be true; however, it happens to be the current promo Eurogamer has ongoing on its site right now. Unfortunately, there remains a catch, as all good things do, which many who would want to take advantage of the offer seem to be taking a disliking to.

In order to avail of the freebie coupon from Eurogamer, you have to have a Facebook account and install a Coupon App to be eligible.

Although Facebook remains a global powerhouse in the world of social networking, many people are also opting not to create a presence on Facebook for many reasons, ranging from privacy issues, not wanting to share their information online or just plain not caring at all about Facebook.

A Reddit thread that has been discussing this promo suggests some workarounds for this catch, including creating dummy Facebook accounts or creating one account with no information on it to be used only for promos such as Eurogamer's.

Unfortunately, according to some people who are sharing their Facebook woes, the current sign-up process requires new users to provide a mobile phone number which they are unwilling to share. (Although Facebook does ask for a mobile phone number when signing up, it is not required and used mainly for extra security and verification purposes. In lieu of a phone number, a confirmed email address is still accepted.)

However, if you already have a Facebook account or you're willing to make one to take advantage of Eurogamer's special offer of free Steam games, then head on over to its website and enter your email address in the form provided and follow the steps in the windows that follow.

According to EuroGamer's promo description, only one entry will be permitted for every Facebook user, and although the Coupon App will need to be installed to be able to get the code, you can delete it as soon as you've claimed your free games.
