Early reports have suggested that Apple's 5.5-inch iPhone 6 was facing a delay due to battery issues. A new report claims the issue has been resolved and Apple plans to ship 20 million this year.

Apple unveiled iOS 8 at WWDC 2014 and plans on releasing it to current iOS devices in the fall. The new OS will also ship with the company's next flagship smartphone, the iPhone 6, which is expected to make its debut in late September to coincide with the launch of iOS 8.

This year Apple will reportedly introduce two versions of iPhone 6; a 4.7-inch model to compete with Samsung's Galaxy S5 and HTC One M8 and a 5.5-inch phablet that will go head to head with Samsung's Galaxy Note 3 and LG G3.

There have been many reports that have claimed that the larger 5.5-inch iPhone 6 was facing a delay due to battery issues and would be released after the 4.7-inch iPhone and just in time for the holiday season. Part of the battery issue was due to the 5.5-inch iPhone 6's design; the phablet is reportedly extremely thin and requires a very slim battery.

If you were bummed out by those reports, a new report claims the issue has been resolved and Apple is planning on shipping 20 million 5.5-inch iPhone 6 phablets before the end of 2014. It's unclear if both iPhone 6 models will go on sale at the same time but potential 5.5-inch iPhone 6 owners should expect to pay a premium over the 4.7-inch model, with some reports suggesting that the phablet will likely cost $100 more than its smaller sibling.

The iPhone 6 is expected to feature a redesigned and rounder case than the one found on the iPhone 5s and it will borrow design elements from the iPad Air and iPad mini. The iPhone 6 will reportedly feature a 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch Retina display with a resolution of 1704 x 960, which will make it easy for developers to support the new handsets. The smartphones are expected to pack in a faster and more efficient Apple A8 processor and motion coprocessor. Its camera will receive an update and supposedly use electronic image stabilization.

As always, it's best to take reports of unannounced Apple devices with a huge grain of salt. We'll be sure to keep you up to date on all iPhone 6 news.
