Tomb Raider fans out there who are on the lookout for the release of Crystal Dynamics' upcoming title, Rise of the Tomb Raider, should not get too excited as the Official Xbox Magazine - in its September issue - reportedly confirms that the game's possible multiplayer mode will not happen.

All Games Beta (AGB) announced the news in a snippet it shared over Twitter, indicating it was taken from an Official Xbox Magazine's article in its September issue.

Official Xbox Magazine says in the article that the developers made the decision to cut the multiplayer component of the game to make sure that the bigger time could be allotted to perfecting the single-player experience.

"With multiplayer cut from the experience, Crystal Dynamics needed to make this core campaign as entertaining as possible," reads the preview from the magazine.

A report points out the developer's decision to scrap the multiplayer feature of the new Tomb Raider game will not be a surprise, since the 2013 Tomb Raider reboot was not well-received by players.

Additionally, a review of the 2013 reboot of Tomb Raider points out the game's multiplayer component had not been sufficient to make the video game experience remarkable. It added stripping away the story, characters, as well as puzzles eliminate what is most special about Tomb Raider.

The reboot - which showcased four multiplayer modes - was about killing anyone, capturing points or transporting medical supplies. Gamers acquired experience levels and gained access to new weapons, rewards, as well as characters by playing these modes.

The storyline of the Rise of the Tomb Raider will focus on the journey of Lara Croft heading to Siberia to find Kitezh, the legendary ancient city founded in the 13th century. This city is also believed to contain the key to immortality. She will encounter dangerous creatures, booby traps, and elements on her way to find the ancient city.

The Rise of the Tomb Raider is slated to be released this year in the fall - specifically, Nov. 10, reports say. The game will be played via Xbox One and Xbox 360.

This game will be the eleventh Tomb Raider game.
