Asus has added ZenBook UX305LA, a Windows 10-based ultrabook, to its current portfolio of ZenBooks, making it the first premium Asus laptop to run on Microsoft's latest operating system.

The ZenBook UX305LA runs on the latest fifth-generation Intel Core i7 processor with an 8GB RAM. The Core i7 supports Turbo Boost frequency up to 3GHz.

The laptop contains a 512GB solid-state drive, which has speeds six times faster than the usual hard disk clock-speed, and a battery life of up to 10 hours.

Asus will also launch an Intel Core i5 version of the ZenBook UX305LA at the end of the quarter.

At the price of Rs 97,990 or $1500, the ultrabook will soon be available in India in titanium gold, white and black color options. The 13.3-inch display laptop packs a QHD screen with a pixel resolution of 3200 x 1800.

Its ultra-slim design is part of the sophisticated metallic finish found in Asus' line of ZenBooks.

The Asus notebook can be bought in two available designs, the Obsidian Stone finish with the classic metal pattern on the lid and the Aurora metallic finish with a pebble-like texture on the front.

Asus has incorporated new technologies into the ZenBook UX305LA to improve screen display and provide more efficient thermal management on the device.

"The new laptop is a perfect balance of great looks and functionality which delivers a powerful performance with the Windows 10 combination," said Peter Chang, managing director of Asus India.

Indian consumers are gradually moving towards ultraportable products. The ZenBook UX305LA redefines the ultra-portability of Asus products with its svelte design and featherweight features. It is unclear, however, if Asus plans to launch the laptop in the United States.

"It is one of the most affordable products in this category and we truly believe that it deserves a top spot in the festive shopping list of the Indian consumers," added Chang.

The ZenBook series boasts sharper 4K/UHD video playback and high-performance productivity.

In February 2015, Asus announced the launch of the ZenBook UX305. Its lightweight and thin body, which measures 1.23 cm or about half an inch, is portable enough to be brought and used anywhere.
