It looks like Thor is on sequel overload as actor Chris Hemsworth will be making the jump from "Avengers: Age of Ultron" right into a follow-up to his other established franchise, "Snow White and the Huntsman." Sure the character may look and act like the Norse God of Thunder, but a paycheck is a paycheck, right? However, after the original earned close to $400 million at the global box office, it is difficult to discount the drawing power of Hemsworth. His recognizability as Thor will continue to attach itself to the biggest and best properties that the film industry has to offer.

The good news about the upcoming sequel to "Snow White and the Huntsman" is not all about Hemsworth, though. It's about the possibility of legendary director Frank Darabont sitting at the sequel's helm.

The Wrap has reported that Darabont, who co-created "The Walking Dead" TV series, is in talks to possibly direct Universal Pictures' yet-untitled sequel to "Snow White and the Huntsman." While there has been no official offer yet in the way of a contract, Darabont looks to be at the top of a very short list to take the helm of the sequel. Better still is that Kristen Stewart does not appear to be hovering around the sequel to return as Snow White. With that vacancy open, Hemsworth's Huntsman will have more screen time to prove himself and flesh out his character. While some fans may think that the Huntsman character is a little too similar to the Mjolnir-wielding Asgardian, money talks in Hollywood, and we know what walks. Especially in the global box office game, which is more important than ever now.

Hemsworth's star has certainly hit a high note since "The Avengers" dropped in May of 2012, and his appearance in the original "Snow White and the Huntsman" only improved his profile in Hollywood. Putting Hemsworth as the key star of the franchise makes it seem like focusing a new film solely about the Huntsman is the right move in the hands of the legendary Darabont.

Since unceremoniously leaving "The Walking Dead," Darabont has been looking for the right project, and it seems like he has found it. While The Wrap has not received any solid intel yet, it would seem that Darabont is very close to officially signing on to direct the sequel. In addition to bringing "The Walking Dead" to television, Darabont has been behind some of the most successful movies of the past 20 years, including "The Shawshank Redemption" and "The Green Mile."
