Any cosplayer will tell you that shopping for cosplay fabric is always a massive challenge, especially for cosplayers who don't live in cities with huge fashion districts such as New York and Los Angeles.

However, fabric shopping for costuming will get easier next year, thanks to Cosplay Fabrics when Jo-Ann's Fabrics stores nationwide start carrying fabrics specifically created for cosplay purposes.

Cosplay Fabrics partnered with cosplay superstar Yaya Han to create this "new line of specialty fabrics that will make it even easier for creative cosplayers to realize their dreams." These fabrics include many that are hard to find for cosplayers outside of fashion districts, including 4-way stretch spandex in a variety of colors, as well as fabrics with foil and synthetic leather coatings. The new fabric line also features brocade and tightly woven coutil fabrics, used for corsets, most often used for Victorian and steampunk costumes, but also handy for armor trim.

Perhaps most impressive, though, is that Cosplay Fabrics also has that extremely difficult-to-find blue stretch fabric with white stars for Wonder Woman costumes.

"Until now, costumers interested in pushing the creativity of their designs to the next level had two choices—either make due with limited selections at local stores or shop online, which takes away the all-important ability to touch and feel the material to make sure it's the right fit for a given project," reads a press release for Cosplay Fabrics.

Cosplay has become more mainstream, particularly in stores like Jo-Ann's, which also features sewing patterns targeted at cosplayers covering everything from superheroes to Doctor Who.

"This new line from Cosplay Fabrics represents a paradigm shift in the world of cosplay," says Han. "Dressing up and creating your own fandom at events like Comic Con in San Diego and New York has really gone mainstream in the last few years. Now it will be even easier for everyone to make their own costumes and create their own fandom!"

Cosplay Fabrics will start appearing in Jo-Ann's Fabrics stores in spring 2016. Interested costumers can visit the Cosplay Fabrics website for more information.
