The latest edition of WWE 2k15 will have the current World Heavyweight Champion John Cena on the cover. Fans have been waiting for this for years and looks like 2014 will be good for them.

The 2K WWE 2K15 game will be available on the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation. It will be released on October 28 later this year.

This will be 2K Sports second WWE series release. There's no better way to celebrate Cena's recent win, his 12th championship reign actually, than by being on the cover of a video game. He's no doubt a superstar with 22 championship titles. He follows the previous champions Bruno Sammartino, Bob Backland, and Hulk Hogan with the highest number of days reigning as champ.

The game is a timely upgrade of the first release with better motion capture and visual experience. It will have more animation plus improved textures and body proportions as per Mark Little, executive producer, of the WWE 2K15 series.

"The choreography that goes on in a match in the WWE is a very different thing than what we'll be able to replicate. But what we will be able to bring to life is that opportunity to have that experience. So if you want to use the ring psychology of a wrestler, the match will play out like a normal wrestling match should," Little said.

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson was on the cover last year. He is no longer active in wrestling but since he's now a famous Hollywood actor; that draws more attention even from the non-wrestling fanatics.

2K has a good track record when it comes to launching sports simulation games. Some of the previous covers include LeBron James, Michael Jordan, and Kevin Durant. For John Cena, it's "truly an honor and privilege to serve as the WWE 2K15 cover Superstar."

The WWE 2K15 is developed by 2K studio Yukes and Visual Concepts. Their choice of John Cena on the cover is anticipated because he has become a pop culture sensation. He's been seen in numerous films and TV shows. He is also known to have granted about 400 wishes through the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
