The Google Gemini AI was yet again featured this I/O 2024, with new features and experiences made available for all users, but with the many tiers available, which one is for you?

Currently, there are four Gemini AI tiers from Google, offering the multimodal experience to its most advanced tech yet, centering on the Nano, Flash, Pro, and Ultra options available.

It is known that when Gemini first came out, it did not see a great time as users saw massive issues with Bard's replacement, but Google promised that it would be back better than ever, with the initial problems to be rid of.

Google's Gemini 1.0 Nano

The four tiers of Gemini start with Nano, and this is the basic experience available for all, the free tier of the renowned multimodal AI model. This specific Gemini model would be available later this year, first coming to the Pixel smartphones that can process multimedia content including text, photos, audio, and video right from the get-go.

It is said that this will further expand Android's AI capabilities after getting built-in features from Google's AI development. Nano was made specifically for Pixels, offering improved AI capabilities for all.

On the other hand, there is also the free Gemini that is available as an app and via its web platform, with this and Nano offering the 1.0 version of the AI.

Gemini 1.5 Flash

Gemini Flash is the next tier, and it already features version 1.5 of the AI model for users, touted to be the faster and lighter version of the generative AI system, with Google also claiming that it is the faster version compared to Gemini 1.5 Pro, particularly with its response time.

It is available for $0.35 per 1 million tokens, but after expending these, users would have to apply to a waitlist for an additional 2 million tokens.

Gemini 1.5 Pro

The next on the list is the more powerful Gemini 1.5 Pro, the version that Google previously claimed could listen to audio files, touted to be the "most advanced" model in its lineup. It offers better performance for more complex tasks with better results compared to the two tiers above, said Google, but the downside is it's slower compared to Flash.

It is available for $7 per 1 million tokens, but also available for $3.50 per 1 million tokens with a cap of 128,000 prompts. Additional tokens are also available via the waitlist.

Gemini 1.0 Ultra

The last tier and the far more powerful version feature two options, first centering on Gemini's 1.0 version, the Ultra. The other one is the Gemini Advanced.

The Ultra is more powerful compared to Pro, and is available for $20 per month, with Google offering a free two-month access for new subscribers. It is still in version 1.0.

Gemini Advanced is on Gemini's 1.5 version, and opting for this tier would give users access to the 1.0 Gemini Ultra, available for the same $20 per month with two months of free access, 1 million context window, and the ability to upload Google Docs and PDF files, generating summaries, answers, and more for it.

Under these tiers, users would get 2TB of storage via Google One and Gemini available on Gmail, Docs, and other Google Workspace apps.
