Fans of AMC's zombiepocalypse horror-drama The Walking Dead and its companionable, Los Angeles-based spinoff Fear the Walking Dead finally have a way to put the skills they daydream about in their World War Z adventure fantasies to the test. Lyft, which made headlines with its Back to the Future-themed DeLorean pick-up day to honor the film trilogy's 30th anniversary, is now offering a similar (though slightly more terrifying) promotion: an in-real-(undead)-life Walker delivered straight to your door.

And the best part? It's all free.

With the help of Skybound Comics, publisher of the original The Walking Dead series, the app-to-car ridesharing service developed the Halloween-style RPG to let Lyft patrons order a denizen of the undead between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 30. Users with the Lyft app will be able to switch over to "zombie mode" to request an appearance from a Walker. After a selection has been made, a Walker—controlled by a "handler"—will arrive at the designated location. From there, who knows what might occur? As Lyft's website says, "Your handler will unchain the zombie, who will be free to attack, pose for selfies, or drool all over your office carpet."

Unfortunately, the app isn't availabe nationwide, limited solely to the San Francisco and New York City metro areas, but out-of-towners who want to get in on the action can follow Lyft's all-brained scheme on social media by using the hashtag #LyftZombieMode, or by following the @LyftZombieMode Twitter account.
