It's been a while since we've heard much from Evolve. The asymmetrical first-person shooter that pits a team of four hunters against one massive player-controlled beast made a splash when it released back in February, but since then, the game has mostly gone silent.

DLC in the form of new monsters, hunters and skins came to the game in the following months, but it's been a long time since we've heard anything on the Evolve front.

That's now changing with the introduction of the game's fifth playable monster, on sale Nov. 3. Dubbed the Gorgon, this terrifying spider-creature looks to be the scariest big-bad yet. Featuring the ability to catch hunters in her webs, spawn mini-spider monsters and spit acid, the Gorgon looks to be a formidable challenge for longtime Evolve players.

You can check out the trailer for the Gorgon below, which is presented in a grindhouse movie style. Too bad the Gorgon isn't coming out in time for Halloween. A special Halloween event would be perfect for the game, and numerous other multiplayer titles have already begun their spooky holiday celebrations.

The Gorgon will be available for $10 or comes free for those who purchased the Hunting Season two pass. Evolve caught a lot of flak for its DLC plans around the time of its release, but it looks like 2K and developer Turtle Rock Studios have delivered all that they promised.
