Walmart is starting its holiday sales deal earlier than ever this year. The retailer is offering several technology deals, the best of which is the Apple iPad mini 2 16 GB Wi-Fi tablet on sale for $199, a savings of $70 off the regular retail price of the slate.

Black Friday is still several weeks away, and Christmas is almost two months down the road, but that hasn't stopped Walmart from touting its holiday deals and kicking off sales this month. The company is promising more of its "rollback deals" and great buys, which always include some great tech bargains.

Judith McKenna, COO of the company, said, "I want customers to be in awe when they see what we have to offer as they walk into our stores or click around our site. Our managers have made a lot of progress to improve the shopping experience before the holidays and our merchants made sure we have the right products in stock. We're delivering the prices customers expect, but we've taken it up a notch. Our Supercenters, Neighborhood Markets and Walmart.com will be a powerful combination for customers this holiday season — trust me."

To start the month off, Walmart has several tech deals in the cards, and the hottest one is a great price on the Apple iPad mini 2 16 GB Wi-Fi tablet. Now, buyers can pick up the slate for just $199, a full $70 off the retail price and half of the price of the latest version.

Walmart is also touting two online only tech deals that we wouldn't necessarily qualify as remarkable — the RCA LED48G45RQ 48-inch 1080p 60 Hz Class LED HDTV for $299 and a Straight Talk Samsung Galaxy S3 for $99. The TV is decently-priced, but those looking for a large screen HDTV who are willing to wait should be able to find even better bargains as Black Friday approaches. The Galaxy S3 was a good phone at the time it was released in 2012, but we're getting ready to ring in 2016 soon.

The iPad mini 2 deal, however, is a great buy for anyone looking for a quality smaller-sized Wi-Fi tablet, and it would also make a nice holiday gift. Those who order online will also receive free shipping on the device.
