Now that Marvel's Doctor Strange film has begun filming in Nepal, one sneaky Twitter user managed to capture a photo of Benedict Cumberbatch in the title role.

Of course, the photo isn't that clear and the photographer was too busy being sneaky to frame it perfectly, but it still offers the first peek we've seen of Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange.

However, in this particular shot, Cumberbatch isn't yet wearing his Doctor Strange costume, but he is looking scruffier than normal, with longer hair and Doctor Strange's signature goatee and beard.

Marvel confirmed Cumberbatch in the role last year after rumors started flying about who might potentially become the star of Marvel's latest franchise, including Johnny Depp, Tom Hardy, Joaquin Phoenix and even Jared Leto (who eventually joined the DC Universe as the Joker in Suicide Squad).

Originally, Marvel planned on creating a Doctor Strange film way back in 1986, but it never happened, although it bounced back and forth around Hollywood. Eventually, Marvel re-confirmed that a film would happen, but it wasn't until last year that the studio began confirming both a script and a cast.

Now, though, according to this image, the film is finally in production, but it's still a risky endeavor with Marvel. Doctor Strange's story is odder than most, and Marvel has plans to keep it weird. Doctor Strange's origins are supernatural, which makes the character a lot different from other superheroes in the Marvel cinematic universe, such as Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Black Widow and Hulk.

"Strange in the crazy acid trip way, traveling through other dimensions and realms, is something we think is very, very cool," said Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige to Collider. "Playing with the perceptions of reality. I just watched the Neil Degrasse Tyson 'Cosmos' series, which is amazing, and which may as well be an acid trip. It is a mind-bending and it's all based in physics and quantum mechanics and we're going to play a lot with the notion of that as an explanation of how the sorcerers do what they do."

Marvel also recently confirmed that Chiwetel Ejiofor will co-star in Doctor Strange as the villainous Baron Mordo. There are also reports that Boardwalk Empire's Michael Stuhlburg will join the cast as Nicodemus West with Rachel McAdams potentially taking on the role of night nurse Christina Palmer.

Doctor Strange hits theaters Nov. 4, 2016.
