The long-awaited, long-delayed Assassin's Creed movie is currently in production. The movie, from director Justin Kurzel, star Michael Fassbender, and video game studio Ubisoft (which is maintaining creative control of the film), is expected to release in late 2016.

But aside from a single photo of Fassbender in costume as an assassin from centuries ago named Aguilar, nothing has been seen of the production except for a handful of leaked location photos. Today, Ubisoft's head of content on the Assassin's Creed video games, Azaïzia Aymar, posted a couple of pics that he personally took on the film's set.

The pictures are close-ups of a pair of broadswords that appear to be mounted behind glass. More specifically, the photos focus on the swords' pommels. One of them shows the cross symbol emblem of the Knights Templar; the other has a carving of a bearded man's head.

Another photo Aymar sent out a little while later provides a closer view of that same head. Aymar's tweet challenged his followers to guess the identity of the man depicted on the pommel, and it only took a few guesses before someone got it right. Aymar himself quickly confirmed that the man's identity is Hugues De Payens, the real-life founder and first Grand Master of the Knights Templar. The historical De Payens, a Frenchman, lived in the ninth and tenth centuries.

Aymar's tweet also hinted that the swords are likely hanging in the offices of Abstergo, the modern day face of the Templars in the games.

The Assassin's Creed movie is scheduled for release on Dec. 21, 2016.
