Katsuhiro Harada, game producer and creator of TEKKEN, from Namco Bandai Games, has revealed Tekken 7 at the EVO 2014.

The Japanese fighting game, TEKKEN, was first released in 1994 and since then the game producer has also released several updates and sequels. Earlier in January this year, Harada said that he will announce two to three game titles in 2014. However, did not confirm if a sequel to TEKKEN will be one of them.

Gamers can select their avatar from a variety of characters such as Devil, Angel, Ogre, Kuma, Panda, Alex and more. In the story mode of the game, each of the character has their personal reasons for fighting.

The announcement of TEKKEN 7 seems to have leaked before Harada actually expected. A video of Harada speaking at the EVO 2014 was leaked by an IGN news video that was published by AOL. However, it seems that the error was soon recognized and the video has since been removed but a video trailer of the upcoming game is now available online.

"With Unreal Engine 4, we can rapidly achieve the visual quality expected on next-gen platforms and go beyond it," says Harada in the leaked video. "Not only is Unreal Engine 4 powerful and easy to use, but it allows us to easily bring Tekken 7 to any platform we desire."

Even though Harada announced that TEKKEN 7 will be powered by Unreal Engine 4, he did not reveal the exact platforms in which the game will be available.

Namco Bandai has released each TEKKEN version initially in arcade and then ported to the respective Sony PlayStation available at that time. It should not come as a surprise if TEKKEN 7 is initially released in arcade and then ported to the latest PlayStation 4.

In 2007, Namco Bandai released TEKKEN 6 for arcades. In 2008, TEKKEN 6 was updated to TEKKEN 6: Bloodline Rebellion. The update was then released for the PlayStation3, PlayStation and Xbox 360 as TEKKEN 6. The game maker also released TEKKEN 3D: Prime Edition, based on TEKKEN 6, for the Nintendo 3DS in 2012.

Even though Harada has not revealed the platforms for which the game will be released, gamers will hope that TEKKEN 7 is available for PlayStation 4 and the latest Xbox One as well.
