LG has unveiled a new variant to its flagship G4 smartphone named the G4 White Gold Edition, which is available for purchase in South Korea beginning today.

The LG G4 White Gold Edition is aimed at women and young customers, and as the name suggests, this version of the Android smartphone features the colors of white and gold in its design. The front and back of the device is colored white, while the sides of the smartphone are painted gold.

In addition to the color combination, one other thing that the LG G4 White Gold Edition offers is that the smartphone's back cover is a simple matte one, compared with the textured covers and leather covers found in other variants of the smartphone.

Nothing else is different with the device compared to the other LG G4 versions, as it features the same 5.5-inch quad HD display, hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, 16MP rear-facing camera and 32GB expandable memory. The device ships with Android Lollipop, but an update to take it to Android Marshmallow has already started to roll out in South Korea.

The unlocked version of the LG G4 White Gold Edition costs about $600 in South Korea. LG, however, did not reveal if the G4 variant will also be released to other markets.

LG might not be done with variants for its G4 flagship smartphone though, as a recent report revealed that a smartphone made by the South Korea Company has surfaced online when it passed through the FCC. The LG device has a model number LG-H815PX, and with the certification received from the FCC, its release in the country might not be far away.

The mysterious device could even be the LG G4 White Gold Edition. However, it could also be an entirely new device altogether, perhaps the LG G5?

Sources are saying that the LG G5 could be released as early as November this year, which would add a bit more plausibility to the mysterious device being the LG G5 and not an LG G4 variant such as the LG G4 White Gold Edition. It is believed that the LG G5 would be powered by Qualcomm's powerful Snapdragon 820 chipset.
