Best Buy recently announced a slew of new 2015 Black Friday deals to supplement those already displayed in an earlier version of its released flyer. The standout of the bunch, however, is an original deal and one of best Black Friday tech deals we've seen so far, a Toshiba 49-inch 1080p LED HDTV on sale for just $149, beating rival deals from Walmart and Target.

It's not clear whether the release of the new Best Buy deals was premeditated or came as a reaction to the competition, but in either case the company is living up to its name by offering some of the lowest prices we've seen so far this season, especially when it comes to this Toshiba 1080p LED HDTV.

Best Buy is undercutting one of its biggest rivals, Walmart, in the HDTV Black Friday price wars with this deal. Walmart's recently released Black Friday flyer touted a smaller, 40-inch 1080p LED HDTV with the same $149 price tag.  The Walmart deal is for an un-named brand to-be-announced, which we expect to be the lower-tier Element moniker or another set manufacturer on that level. Toshiba is a higher-end, more expensive and better-quality HDTV brand.

The suggested retail price of the Toshiba, model 49L310U, is $429. That makes the $149 price tag a full $280 off, less than 35 percent of the original price. Walmart is also promoting another HDTV, an unnamed 50-inch 1080p LED model for $269, on the front page of its flyer. That Black Friday deal almost doubles Best Buy's Toshiba price, which is for the same size set and a higher-end brand. Target's closest entry in the category is a slightly larger 55-inch Westinghouse brand 1080p LED HDTV for $249. While Target's offering may be slightly better than the Walmart deal, Best Buy's Toshiba beats out both by far in both price and quality.

One area in which its rivals outdo Best Buy is ease of purchase. The set will be available only in Best Buy stores and not online, while the Walmart and Target HDTVs are being sold in limited quantities on the web as well. Walmart also does have some good deals on other sets—smart TV's with built-in Rokus, for example. We'll be bringing you a full rundown of the best Black Friday 4K, smart TV and other HDTV deals in the days to come.
