Withings has been releasing a number of fitness-tracking smartwatches, the first of which released last year, called the Activité and costing $450. The next device was the Activité Pop, a much lower-end version that ran for $150.

Now, the company has come out with a device that sits in the middle: The Activité Steel, which costs $170.

The new device certainly isn't as fancy as the high-end Activité, offering silicon straps rather than leather ones, but it definitely doesn't look bad.

The Withings Activité Steel is different from the other Activité devices in a number of ways. For example, the Steel has a subtle white hand in the sub-dial, rather than the colorful one found on the standard Activité. It also has the stainless steel case from the higher-end device but the silicone straps from the lower-end one.

The device itself is able to track a number of metrics and relay that information to the user's smartphone. For example, it will track walking, running, swimming, sleep and so on. It connects to the user's smartphone through Bluetooth 4.0, and is compatible with the iPhone 4S and above, as well as any Android device with Bluetooth Low Energy.

Those looking to customize the device won't be happy, as the Steel only comes in black. That being said, the black does look pretty sleek.

Those looking for basic fitness tracking in a classic-looking watch should head to the Withings online store, which seems to be the only place to buy the device.
