It might seem like a lot of people complain about in-game double XP weekends, but it also seems like it's hard for players to turn down such offers. Call of Duty: Black Ops III evidences such behavior, as the majority has ruled in favor of a Double XP event patch that will roll out alongside an update to the game's lobby.

So developer Treyarch put up a Twitter poll to find out if fans would like to level up twice as fast with a double XP weekend. It was a landslide of votes in favor of the event.

Treyarch has only confirmed the double XP event for favorite sons PC, PlayStation 4 and XBox One. The developer was also expected to offer the event on the campaign-less Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game, but that doesn't appear to be the case.

The launch of the double XP event coincides with an update that brings lobby leaderboards to current-gen consoles and PC. The lobby update and double XP event are being rolled out in a small patch, the last of its kind before the game's next major care package, according to David Vonderhaar, Treyarch's design director.

That may not be exactly the case, as players have been reporting errors related to connectivity. So a hotfix may be inbound if the problems persist. Players have been reporting that the version of the game appears to have changed from 33.0.0.0 to 37.0.0.0 and they have been receiving error code A.B.C.-.-.F.G.H.

Meanwhile, there also appears to be a problem with aiming down the sights with sniper scopes. Apparently, the frame rate drops when doing so.And early on in the double XP weekend, PC players haven't been getting the message. While their double rewards have been counted and applied, they have received confirmation.
