Joseph Gordon-Levitt is the lip sync king. And if anyone wants to challenge this, watching the 2015 "Lip Sync Battle" Holiday Special should quickly clear up any doubts.

The actor's foray into lip-syncing started two years ago when he went on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" and did a lip sync battle with Stephen Merchant. This portion of the show then spawned its own series called "Lip Sync Battle" on Spike, in which Gordon-Levitt, Anthony Mackie and Seth Rogen were guests for its holiday special. But though the three "The Night Before" co-stars were there, only Gordon-Levitt and Mackie officially duked it out in a lip sync battle.

For the first round, Mackie chose Katy Perry's "I Kissed a Girl" while Gordon-Levitt went with Usher's "Yeah." Mackie was a bit subdued on the stage but he was every bit aggressive, playing around with his song. According to Rogen, who had been watching as the onstage Santa Claus, Mackie's performance was so sexually charged he might've gotten the portion of the stage he was standing on pregnant.

Not that this intimidated Gordon-Levitt, of course. It may have been a couple of years since he had a lip sync battle on TV but clearly he has not lost his touch. He worked that stage like no other, milking "Yeah" for every little bit it's worth.

The first round of performances were both good, leaving the audience a bit undecided on who should go down in history as the winner of the 2015 "Lip Sync Battle" Holiday Special, but then round 2 came, and the answer was more than obvious.

Mackie did put up a fight with MC Hammer's "2 Legit 2 Quit," busting out his moves in a white suit, and then a black spandex unitard. However, it was Gordon-Levitt's "Rhythm Nation" by Janet Jackson - complete with police uniform, makeup and a ponytail - that ultimately bowled everyone over, allowing the actor to take home the "Lip Sync Battle" Holiday Special championship belt for 2015.

Season 2 of "Lip Sync Battle" will premiere on Jan. 7 with hosts Chrissy Teigen and LL Cool J. A British version of the show is reportedly in the works at UK's Channel 5 network.
