Samsung Pay is the latest project to come out of the South Korean giant, and it wants consumers to jump in.

At the moment, the Samsung Pay service has over 1 million subscribers in South Korea, so one would guess the company will want to have similar successes in the United States as well. To help make this happen, Samsung is offering a $50 gift card to anyone who signs up.

According to the promotion on the company's website, the deal will come to an end by the end of the year, so for the folks who are interested, now is the time to jump in and take advantage of what Samsung Pay has to offer.

Here's the downside to the whole thing, anyone making the jump right now must have a Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge+, and Galaxy Note 5.

Samsung Pay is a straight competitor to Apple Pay. The service is designed to allow users to pay for items from their smartphones using NFC. Now, these items can only be small-valued, but we're sure the service will be used for purchasing any items in the future.

Samsung says using its service makes transactions easier than before.

"Just swipe up to launch the app, secure with your fingerprint, and hover over the card reader to pay," according to Samsung.

The company like all others makes big statements on security. Samsung claims its service uses several layers of security, but we're not certain what those are to determine if it safe enough.

In the U.S., Apple claims its Apple Pay service has over 1 million registered in the first 3 days of release. However, the Cupertino giant has not updated this number since.

As it stands right now, it would seem these micro-payment services are slowly gaining steam, especially after Apple entered the space with its own.
