Details on Mass Effect Andromeda are still mighty thin, with Bioware's N7 Day teaser being the latest tease for the game. Earlier this year a supposed leak about the game revealed new, as of yet unconfirmed, story details, and now yet another leak reveals what may be the new gameplay details Mass Effect fans have been craving.

According to a new video put together from information leaked to the mods of the Mass Effect subreddit, Mass Effect Andromeda's gameplay will feature two AI squadmates, similar to that of previous games. All characters will be equipped with jet packs to better explore alien terrain. The leak claims cover will be destructible and the omnitool will have more uses.

One major change claimed by the leak is that of Mass Effect Andromeda's new ship. From the N7 Day teaser, we know the player's ship in Andromeda looks to be very different from the Normandy seen in previous Mass Effect titles. The leak states there will be a meeting room inside the ship in which players can interact with their crew and that you'll be able to visit the Mako inside the ship's hangar. In a big departure for the series, the leak says players will be able to drive the ship in first person across the galaxy, though fast travel options will also be available.

There are also some tantalizing new story details to pick over. The player character will be referred to as a Pathfinder, who's mission is to explore the Andromeda galaxy in search of a new home for humanity. The other alien races of the Mass Effect universe will be looking to do much the same, after the events of Mass Effect 3 have left the Milky Way galaxy devastated. A new alien race that is said to be a mix between the Collectors and Vorcha seen in previous games will serve as the villains of the game.

All the new information was sent to the mods Mass Effect subreddit over the weekend from what they believe to be an inside source. Though there is no way to confirm the authenticity of the information, the mods say they have confidence in their source's identity and access to the information, so take that for whatever it's worth.

It all certainly sounds like it could be true, but we won't know for sure until EA decides to lift the veil of secrecy that has surrounded the project thus far. Until that happens, best take all this information with a grain of salt.
