Those on the lookout for a smartphone that doesn't cost the Earth and packs in decent features are in luck. ZTE is offering the midrange ZMAX 2 phablet for a discounted price.

While the smartphone was available through AT&T since September, ZTE has now begun selling the unlocked variant of the ZMAX 2 through its online store in the United States.

As part of the Cyber Week promotions, ZTE is offering the ZMAX 2 at a $50 discount, which means that the $179.98 smartphone can now be had for $129.98.

"ZTE is now offering the ZMAX 2 directly to consumers, which will work across several carriers with no-contract options. Originally priced at $179.98, for a limited time only this holiday season, consumers can get the ZTE ZMAX 2 for $129.98," revealed the company.

The offer is only valid online on ZTEUSA.com and does not involve taxes.

To avail of the Cyber Week promotion and get the discounted price, one will have to use the promo code "CYBERZM" when checking out the smartphone online. The promotional offer for the ZTE ZMAX 2 is valid from Nov. 23 to Nov. 30.

For the unfamiliar, the ZTE ZMAX 2 sports a 5.5-inch TFT screen with Gorilla Glass and a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Under the hood, it houses a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, which is clocked at 1.2 GHz and 2 GB of RAM.

The phablet is the successor of the controversial ZTE ZMAX which was a T-Mobile exclusive. The ZMAX 2 also packs in a powerful 3,000 mAh battery which offer usage support for up to 17 hours, and 16 GB of on-board storage, which can be expanded via a microSD card (up to 32 GB).

The 4G LTE-enabled smartphone also boasts an 8-megapicxel rear-facing camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing shooter. The ZMAX 2 comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box.
