There have been rumors of an impending release of the Samsung Galaxy A9, and it looks like we're close to an official launch. Samsung's Iran website appears to have accidentally posted the device online, revealing some of the smartphone's specs and possible release date.

Sometimes, it feels like Samsung is releasing new smartphones on a weekly basis, even though the company vowed to scale back its lineup, which saw 56 smartphones launched in 2014 alone. We're already hearing new details on what we can expect to see from the company when it unveils its next-generation Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge in February 2016.

We recently reported that sources claim Samsung plans on re-introducing microSD expansion slots to the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, as it faced harsh criticism from tech reviewers, smartphone fans and everyday users for removing the expansion slot and user-replaceable battery. Many Samsung Galaxy S series and Galaxy Note series users have remained loyal to the lineup year after year because of those features since Apple's iPhone never offered either, nor have many Android rivals, like Google's Nexus smartphone series.

The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge aren't the only smartphones Samsung is currently working on. We recently reported that both the Galaxy A3 and A5 passed through the FCC, signaling a possible imminent release. Now, Samsung's rumored Galaxy A9 has popped up on the company's Iran site, confirming its model number of SM-A900F, key specs and a Dec. 1 launch date.

The Samsung Galaxy A9 is expected to feature a 5.5-inch 1080p Full HD display and will be powered by a next-gen Qualcomm Snapdragon 620 processor, Adreno 510 GPU (graphics processing unit) and 3 GB of RAM. The phablet will reportedly launch with 32 GB of internal storage and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.
